Material
of Construction
Britannia’s kitchen extract ventilation canopies are manufactured from type
304 Austenitic stainless steel. All visible surfaces are fine grain satin
polished and welding is of high penetration, reground and polished to match
the original finish. Stainless steel provides an extremely durable finish,
which matches other items of catering equipment, the material has excellent
resistance to fire, unlike aluminium. Joints in the canopies are formed by
means of an internal standing seam joint with stainless steel nuts and bolts
which are then covered by a full height cover strip sealed to the canopy valance
with food grade sealant. All canopies include a full perimeter integrally
formed condensation channel with double angled lower edge for strength and
aesthetics. The condensation channel is complete with stainless steel drain
plugs and neoprene gaskets. Britannia stainless steel canopies can also be
powder coated to provide a coloured finish to suit particular architectural
requirements.Kitchen Canopy Sizing
As a general rule canopies should be mounted so that the underside of the
canopy is 2000mm above finished floor level. When sizing canopies it is most
important that the plan size is large enough to cover the cooking equipment
with adequate overhang. Overhangs to allow are generally:
At the end of equipment range 200mm
At the front face of equipment 300mm minimum
Grease filter Panel Performance
Britstream stainless steel baffle grease filter panels provide a constant
pressure drop of 110 Pa at the duct connection spigot in addition to providing
a positive flame barrier. The panels are available in three sizes.
Panel Size ........................Volume at 100 Pa
500 x 250 x 50mm.............. 0.14 m3/s
500 x 400 x 50mm.............. 0.22 m3/s
500 x 500 x 50mm.............. 0.285 m3/s
